At the end of a trip, a driver can add “other” fees.

Can be a per cent of the fare or a custom amount.
Was supposed to be for things like soiled cabs or tips.

Instead, drivers just add amounts and hope often customers, particularly paying with a cabcharge, do not notice.

An audit in 2023 found hundreds of thousands of suspect “other fees” in just a six month period.

The practice also benefits Cabcharge which pockets a percentage of every transaction on its terminals.
