2:23pm - Phillip Hughes struck by a bouncer from bowling of Sean Abbott while on 63 in Sheffield Shield match against New South Wales.

2:24pm - NSW team doctor John Orchard runs onto the field to attend to Hughes, who appeared to be unconscious. He performs CPR and signals for someone to call an ambulance.

2:25pm - Stephen O'Keefe, Doug Bollinger and David Warner help lift Hughes onto medical cart.

2:29pm - First emergency call made to NSW Ambulance.

2:37pm - Second triple-zero call received by NSW Ambulance.

2:40pm - Peter Nevill waits on Driver Avenue outside SCG to direct ambulance.

2:44pm - NSW Ambulance arrives at Sydney Cricket Ground.

2:50pm - Another four paramedics in two other ambulance vehicles arrive.

3:05pm - NSW Ambulance helicopter arrives at SCG.

3:50pm - Michael Clarke arrives at hospital 20 minutes after Hughes does to be with his former Western Suburbs team mate.

4:15pm - Hughes undergoes emergency surgery to relieve pressure on brain.

Afternoon - A number of players arrive at hospital.
